Why just dress like an athlete? Train like one!

Da VinciAfter a long hot summer, Fall is finally upon us. Can’t you feel it in the air? Something about the change in seasons seems to bring out the urge to move, to be physical. The world series, FOOTBALL, the NY Marathon.

I see people all year long spending big money to wear sports gear of their favorite professional teams/players. Instead of just dressing like your favorite player why not actually train like them?

Professional sports is a multi-billion dollar a year industry and the difference between first and not placing at all is often miniscule so they can’t afford to spend time on gimmicks.

They are all looking for something to give them an “edge”. More and more often that edge is Chiropractic.

During the final show of the second season of the hit Spike TV series “Ultimate Fighter,” the heavyweight winner Rashad Evans took the time to thank Chiropractic care for relieving his back pain and allowing him to fight that night! THIS WAS NOT A PAID ENDORSMENT! This was a testimonial to chiropractic care.

When former Olympic Greco-Roman wrestler and UFC world heavyweight champion Randy Cotour is asked what his winning formula was he always mentions three things: diet, hard training and Chiropractic care.

Chiropractic Economics reported that over 95% of teams in the NFL use chiropractors as a regular part of player care. Joe Montana (three time SuperBowl MVP) uses Chiropractic.

Nolan RyanBarry Bonds said, “I think it should be mandatory to see a chiropractor and massage therapist”. He sure must think so, he brought his own.

Try Tiger Woods, and who uses his low back more than ‘Ol Tiger???

Former heavy weight champion Evander Holyfield said “I have to have an adjustment before I go into the ring. I do believe in chiropractic. I found that going to a chiropractor three times a week helps my performance” The great Muhammad Ali? Chiropractic.

Chiropractors have been attending doctors at the Olympic Games and at national and world championships in track and field, cycling, volleyball, powerlifting, aerobics, and triathlons for years. Dan O’Brien won the Olympic gold medal in the decathlon at the 1996 Summer games in Atlanta and gold medals in 1991, 1993, and 1995 world championships said that “If it were not for Chiropractic, I would not have won the gold medal”. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Carl Lewis, Andy Roddick, Lance Armstrong (seven time Tour De France winner), the list goes on and on.

In my practice I treat many circus performers and Jazz musicians. They don’t come in because of “back pain”, they need to perform at the top of their game. What’s your game???
